What this isn't

Most managed IT providers keep a permanent agent or tunnel inside your network, which means their breach is your breach. I'm Dave Walter, an enterprise infrastructure architect with two decades in production environments. My degree is in computer forensics, and my early career included work for government and law enforcement agencies. From there I moved through regulated, audited financial-sector small businesses running the same Microsoft stack most small companies run today, and on to 24/7 international transportation operations where an outage leaves real people stranded.
I've also sat on the owner's side of the desk. In 2011 I opened a storefront computer shop in small-town Ohio, under the same LLC this practice runs on today. I fixed machines, built PCs, and by 2013 I was selling scheduled maintenance plans to local businesses. I know what a bad server week costs a small company because I was the one they called, and this service exists so that call never has to happen.
